How to convert steps to km and compare it with another user in the group ?

I've got connection with my friend. He was added in my section - "Connection"
Is it possible to compare our total distance per day in Garmin Connect ?
He uses GPS navigation in Fenix 2 - so, I see distance in km
I have Garmin Vivofit, so I have total steps.
How to convert steps to distance and compare both users ?

Is it possible ?

Ok, first of all, with the vivofit you can see your own steps and distance, and by dividing steps by distance, you can get your approximate steps per km and use that to determine your distance based on your steps at a later time.

but, you are not really comparing the same thing with your connection. The vivofit counts your steps 24/7, while your connection is only showing their distance during a specific activity, and there might be more than one some days, or none on other days. the F2 doesn't count 24/7 steps, in other words - it only is showing the distance during something like a "run" activity.

in this case is it possible to compare our GPS activity in km ? is it possible to compare by visual methods ? Graphs, diagrams ?
for example:
friend 1 - 10 km
friend 2 - 15 km
