Edge 810 stopped syncing to iPhone, says "sync complete" but nothing syncs

I've been syncing my Edge 810 to GC on my iPhone 6+ for awhile now. On Saturday, I got back from a ride, launched GC on my iPhone and it instantly said "sync complete". Normally it takes a few seconds and you can watch the progress bar advance while it's syncing, but that didn't happen this time.

I unpaired my devices (I also have a Vivoactive), uninstalled Garmin Connect on my iPhone, restarted my iPhone, reinstalled Garmin Connect, re-paired my 810. It started syncing and again immediately jumped to "sync complete" but nothing synced. No matter how many times I restart both my iPhone and 810, the same things always happens. It connects, jumps to "sync complete", and nothing syncs. Is there any way to force a sync?

  • Same problem on Edge 510. Seems like the problem with formatting of the .fit files. Green bar "Sync complete" appears, but nothing syncs. I tried to unpair bluetooth device, repair again, and even factory reset Edge510. Still not working.

    Is there any way to force a sync?


    You can go directly to the activity in "Rides", choose the one you will sync, and press the "upload" button.. then ..it will FAIL uploading.

    I'm having exactly the same problem with my iphone 6. I just got a new one back from the insurers after about a month and so I was forced to download the new update. I haven't been able to get a ride through since. I have tried uninstalling, repairing, resetting to no avail. I guess the app needs an update - one that actually works would be nice.

    ditto for my Edge 510 and iPhone 6. All running current software versions. Connect version 2.12.3 was the last version to successfully sync.

    I'm having the same problem as well

    iPhone 5s iOS Version 8.4.1

    Garmin 810 Software version 4.20

    Garmin Connect Mobile Build Version 2.13.2

  • Same problem too for the last couple weeks. Thought the update to the app would help but it doesn't seem to. Come on Garmin is right!!

    Same problem with iPhone 5S and Edge 520 - worked after ride this morning, tried to sort the segments and then will not sync again!!!

    We are aware of an issue where Edge devices are showing 'upload failed' when syncing with Connect Mobile on iOS device while the application say sync complete but the newly synced information does not show in the application. We are working to get this corrected as quickly as possible in a future application update and we certainly do apologize for any inconvenience this has caused. In the mean time you can sync with Garmin Express until the issue has been resolved.
