Apple Watch support for Garmin Connect mobile

Hi Guys,

Just a quick note to say I hope Garmin are working on a Apple Watch version of Garmin Connect for iPhone. The live track, activity history and the ability to record a run from the watch could be a great additions.

I know Garmin sell dedicated watches and so thats less likely but until such time as they do I have stopped using Garmin Connect and gone to Strava as that syncs the rides from my Edge 810 but also supports running from the iphone/Apple Watch.

Hopefully Garmin will come out with an app that will feature match it and I can go back to Garmin!

Thanks
Richard

Re: Apple Watch support for Garmin Connect

I will pay for a Garmin Apple Watch app if it's available. I like my Garmin vivoactive. However, I am getting an Apple Watch and do not want to lose track of my running buddies on Garmin connect. Hopefully, Garmin programmers are working on a Apple Watch app.

    Thanks!

I think the proverbial "Ice Cube in Hades" has a better chance.... Why would they do an app to sell a competitor's device? They've dropped support/availability for "Garmin Fit" which runs on a phone without a Garmin device after all.

It would be a very elegant solution.

An Apple Watch running Garmin software.

    I'd buy into that.

It wouldn't hurt either company - I have two Garmin devices and I'm not going to buy any more. I'm not likely to buy an Apple Watch unless I can use it when I'm not wearing my Fenix3.

However, Garmin are a hardware company so won't want their software on a competitor's device. Apple probably don't want Garmin's software on their device - they want you in the Apple Health ecosphere.

I'd love it but sadly it won't happen, methinks.
