New Approach S6 won't pair with iPhone

I bought a new S6 but cannot pair it with my iPhone 6.

On the watch I go to :
Setup>Bluetooth>Pair Mobile Device (yes) it initialized bluetooth and says "Ready to Pair".

There is a device that shows up in "My Devices on my iPhone but the phone says "Connection Unsuccessful", Make sure "divide number" is turned on and within range.

Please let me know what else I can do to pair the devices.

Whoops. There's an app for that. I did not realize you had to pair it through the Connect mobile app instead of the usual procedure.

You might include something about that in the manual for the device.

Is there any reason I can't charge this through the usb port in my car? Not sure if it has power - it's for the sound system but if it does and it charges the device every time the car runs, does it do any harm?
