Having 2 devices connected to the app

God damn i am getting so tired off this issue !!
I have a edge bike computer and a fenix 3 and every time I go for a ride I have to disable Bluetooth on my fenix to allow my edge to connect and when I come home after my ride my fenix cannot reconnect with the result I have to repair my edge
I just cannot understand why the app can't have more than one device connected?
My iPhone can have several devices connected with Bluetooth so why not the connect app

So this is known restriction with GC? I didn't know it but faced same with exactly same equip and came here for solution...
  • This is ONLY a work around ... and it may not work for you. It works for me though (mostly).

I have a VivoSmart and an Edge 810. Normally my iPhone is connected to the VivoSmart.

When I want to upload a ride from the 810, I switch off Bluetooth on the VivoSmart, turn ON Bluetooth on the 810, and let the ride upload.

After the ride is uploaded, I switch off the 810's Bluetooth and turn on the Vivosmart's Bluetooth . I then temporarily disable Bluetooth on my iPhone and re-enable it.

A little while after that my Vivosmart is reconnected to the app.
  • I use a similar approach with my vivoactive and Edge 1000. I used to disable bluetooth on the vivoactive and let the edge connect, but I have started powering off the vivoactive as it is easier to do than turn off bluetooth. I would like to think that Garmin are working on this issue as the proliferation of devices increases and the dependency on Garmin Connect to upload data and maintain permanent connections for notifications, etc

  • Although I haven't tested it yet ... the latest update to the app is supposed to handle connections to multiple devices as once now.

I was hoping to test this myself but the app keeps crashing after the update.
