New Vivosmart - Network Connection Error

I'm sure this is a common error but I cannot seem to find an answer. We just got a Garmin VivoSmart and got it up running fine. We installed the Garmin Mobile Connect application on our IPad Mini. I open the app, hit Sign On and I'm getting "Network Connection Error" and won't go any further. Bluetooth is enabled and Wi-Fi is fine.

Any help would be greatly appreciated before I decide to return it.
