Vivofit won't sync to mobile app (iOS) or online at Garmin Connect (Mac)

I haven't sync'd in about 3 weeks. Tried to sync using mobile app (previously sync'd without too much issue).
I received the red bar error message "Sync Failed, Server Issue". (many times)

I then tried to sync via the mac. While it paired and "starting syncing", after a very long time (I actually thought it froze) I received an error message - this time it just said "Sync Failed".

Any advice?

    Are you connected via wifi?
    Try via 3g.
    Also, you can "force" a sync by changing the device settings and going back to the dashboard. Usually this de-freezes the sync fail.
    Anyhow, this is a software bug and it is quite annoying.
