Yes, having the same problem. Had to ride almost 8 hours in a car yesterday and it counted over 5000 steps. I would imagine a few steps would be added due to some bumps in the road, but it constantly counted up during the entire ride.
  • Same issue for me (FR920XT), I've had more than 3000 steps counted on a 3 hour highway drive without any bumps, turns or similar. Quite strange and as far as I know other activity trackers do not have the same issue

Same problem here with a vivosmart. I think my record was about 7000 steps whilst on a long smooth motorway drive. I was surprised how I'd achieved my step goal that day!

Same issue here but mine is only 600 steps over about 20 minutes.

Vivoactive also counting steps while driving. Not sure exactly how many because I didn't check before I got into the car, but I know it was a decent amount. I know it counted 10 just going about one city block.

Same for me while driving, motorcycling or in the train.

    Really annoying!

Beside this, Google Fit have the same issue.

    So, is there any solution?

Has anyone found a solution to this problem yet?  Mine is telling me I take 10k steps a day - it's all the driving, because I certainly don't take close to that.  Garmin, do you have a solution???

  • Former Member & Former Member, which Garmin device do you have?
