iOS sync fail server error

Hi, had my Vivofit for a week and had no problems, but just tried to sync using app on iPhone and it will not sync - I'm getting a sync fail, sever error message. Is there anything I can do about this?!?!? Tried switching phone off and on again, but no joy!

Anyone else having this problem?????

I do have the very same problem with my Edge 1000. I'm not able to sync the device using Connect on the iPhone. Additionally it's not possible to send courses from the App to the Edge using BT.
  • Yes I have this too with my fenix 3 ... every third or fourth retry works though ...

Everything is working fine again. Sync with the Connect App, sync with Garmin Express on the Mac as well as the transfer of courses and segments with the iPhone App using BT and the Mac using the USB cable. In Garmin Connect I deleted everything in the "Device Sync"-Tap on the left hand side. I don't know whether this is the solution, but now everything is fine and I tested it several times.

hey guys! i think i found solution...you have to sign out from connect app. and sign in again. After you enter username and password app. will ask you to accept "term and conditions" accept it. voilà it is working!

I could not sync fenix 2 through garmin connect mobile on my iphone 5 for weeks

I could not sync fenix 2 through garmin connect mobile on my iphone 5 for weeks. I even updated to the latest new iOS version for this but that did not help. I think I am going to return my fenix 2 to the store I bought it from.

I feel if the product does not live up to its promises with reasonable accommodating effort from the consumer side, it does not deserve the premium price. It is going back to the store if I don't get the solution very soon.

Could anyone save me a trip to a store for returning the garmin device and getting a new non-Garmin product? Also, what is up with such short support line hours?

    Very frustrating

I cannot get that 'voila'. Doesn't work.

Can't get that voila either. I've tried with two different generation iPads and iPhone 5. I've tried to sign out from the app, to reboot both the fenix2 and the iDevices, to repeat the sync 5-10 times. Nothing works. I've previously tweeted to Garmin about hiring at least one professional web developer, it seems like they should also hire one who can develop apps...

So Garmin: any chance of resolving this issue?

It's just frustrating that syncing between my device and phone becomes such a chore. Garmin really needs to invest time and energy into making their mobile apps work with devices flawlessly. This includes syncing first time and updating firmware via bluetooth from the phone. Fitbit can do it - why can't Garmin?

I am experiencing the same issue with my Edge 1000, server error. Interestingly enough, I do not experience it when synching my FR920. And am I using the same iPhone.
