Hey everybody,
I have an issue according connection to my iPhone 4 Garmin app. The Garmin app says it is not compatible to the device. My wish is to have it on the iPhone 4 :D I hope the iPhone isn't to old already - if it is, is it then possible to download an other app which can make the connection possible?
I hope you are able to help me.

  • I've just discovered the same thing. Garmin Connect for Mobile 2.9 requires iOS8 and there's no method of installing an older version on an older phone!

:( That is not good enough from Garmin's side. There are still a lot of Garmin users whose have iPhone 4's. I hope and suggest that they make it happen, so also we can use our watches fully. I just brought it last thursday - and this is a disappointment! :(

The iPhone 4 is nearly 4.5 years old and only supports Bluetooth 2.1, while the iPhone 4s and up support modern / low powered Bluetooth implementations. Having upgraded from an iPhone 4 to an iPhone 6 - partly because the old phone refused to talk to my Garmin devices, I can say that it's worth upgrading for the extra speed alone.

While there may well be a number of iPhone 4 users, you are definitely in the minority. The technology in the iPhone 4 is not up to spec. Supporting the iPhone 4 won't happen. Period. You can get a 4S quite cheaply if you don't want to buy a newer model.
  • Even so, I wouldn't want to install iOS8 on a 4S!
