Current application which I see in App Store has been updated on Dec 2, 2014 and it says that I need to upgrade installed application to get it work with Fenix 3.
So when we will see upgraded iOS app compatible with Fenix 3?

I was able to connect the Fenix 3 by first adding it to my account via Garmin Express app. Once it was registered to me, when I logged in on the iOS app and looked at devices, the Fenix 3 showed up and I was able to pair it using Bluetooth.

interesting, could you go to the iOS application settings -> About -> App Diagnostics and tell me what version you see here, in my case it is 2.8.0.14

I actually finally made it work. Thank you. Went one more time thought all the steps as you described:
    1. Installed Garmin Express on Mac.
    2. Connected watch to mac and added watch to connect account.
    3. (Important!) Install/Setup only after that Mobile application. Say that you don't want to add devices.
    4. Login with your connect account.
    5. Go to the devices page.
    6. On Fenix 3 click on Add device - follow instructions.

Now I see notifications, calendar and weather still show that they syncing. So for now only problems I have

    a) cannot install anything from connect iq.
    b) no weather / calendar
    c) cannot install maps using MapsInstall (as it does not see watch).

I had the syncing weather / calendar issue as well. Weather did start to work today though for me, calendar is still showing waiting for data. I also couldn't get WIFI to work, I added a couple networks to the device via the Express app, but when I try to enable WIFI on the device it complains about not enough free space, which doesn't make much sense since I've only done 2 activities with the device so far. Joys of being an early adopter I guess...
  • OK-----
    1) I'm jealous that you already have your Fenix3! Let me guess .......... REI?
    2) I'm confused b/c some are claiming they have version 2.9 of Garmin Connect Mobile. I see it nowhere to be found.
Maybe that's a good sign (they realized they haven't fixed the time zone / change problem yet)!!!!!

    1. Yep, I ordered it with REI on the first or second day after Garmin announced them.
    2. Today I got an update for Garmin Connect Mobile, now it is 2.9. Everything works now: calendar, notifications, weather.
  • Update seems to be GONE from the Apple Store now???

I still see it. It is possible that App Store distribution can take some time. This is why I see it and you don't. Probably you will get it in next 24 hours as well.
  • Got it.
I hadn't updated my iPhone (and the GC version wasn't compatible).
Now ........ too bad when I select Twitter in LiveTrack the new version locks up.
Tried uninstall / reinstall to no avail.
    Argh! Always, always something .......
