Garmin 810 & Vivosmart Bluebooth Battle Royal

I recently upgraded from a Vivofit to a Vivosmart and now my 810 & Vivosmart are duking it out over the bluetooth connection and the Vivosmart is winning.

I can't get the 810 to sync via bluetooth or reliably use livetrack until I disable the bluetooth connection on the Vivosmart. Once disabled the 810 will work normally, until I re-enable the Vivosmart to sync my steps.

I never had any problems with the Vivofit & the 810 conflicting like this.

Anyone else having problems with this combination? or is it just me?

Kind of a PIA to have to keep enabling/disabling the Vivosmart bluetooth.
  • I think this is a known issue. It's not just the 810 ... only one Garmin device that wants to use GC Mobile can be connected at a time.

As I don't use GC on my iPhone during a ride, I just disconnect my vivosmart when I want to upload my ride from the 810 and reconnect after.
  • Yes. Mine is exactly the same. Im thinking of returning the vivosmart as it about as useful as a chocolate ash tray. Even worse than this, my activities are all repeated. so! if you are trying to track calories and milage you might as well pluck a number out thin air.
