Network error when attempting to sync

I cannot get my device to sync. It says "network connection error" before attempting to sync and then "server error, unable to sync". Anyone else having this problem??

still not able to sync, east coast 11:45pm
  • I get the same thing repeatedly. It would be nice if Garmin weighed in and offered a working solution to the problem!

When I finally managed to sync after five days of network errors, all of my data for the previous four days was gone. From what I can see, no data is saved for more than a day. I'm ready to forgive Garmin for occasional server problems, but I've tried to sync maybe 50 times over three weeks and have succeeded 3-4 times, and I always have to re-pair before it syncs. Tech support's response? "Keep trying."

I have been having the same network error / server problems for 5 days. Getting really really annoyed. Also tried several times yesterday to update the software on vivosmart to the latest version which they say is available. Have given up. Kept telling me to connect the device to the computer which it was ( it was charging). Then eventually it recognised the device. Said it would take >3 hours so left it overnight. No progress this morning. Also canny conect to MyFitnessPAl (server error)

Any response from Garmin on what I should do?!?

All my missing data is back but it took some time. It started appearing one day at a time and eventually caught up.

Problem: ”server error or unable to sync”

This error appears to be a major problem for Garmin product users. Having a product that works is useless if it is so dependent on Garmin servers that do not work. I wonder is this a server or software problem?

If it is not working reliably by Tuesday, January 13, I may be returning my ViVofit to Best Buy for a refund and the new device I buy WILL NOT be a Garmin product.

    I have a similar problem with an 810 and iPhone 5S running V 8.1.2.
The phone connects via bluetooth, says that it is syncing, and then says "sync failed". Was working perfectly 2 weeks ago.
    Any suggestions Garmin?
