BUG: date/time changed when activity name edited, presumarbly due to TZ mishandling

Hello,

I have a Forerunner 620 paired to the iOS app via BT. Both the watch and the Garmin connect profile/site are set to the correct time zone (i.e. GMT+8/Singapore).
Every time I edit an activity name and save the start time of the activity is incorrectly shifted 8 hours ahead.
E.g.:
- this morning I ran at 7:48 (am). The time looks good both on the watch and on the website
- I changed the activity name on the mobile app and saved it (the app does not allow to change date/time)
- the activity time was now set at 15:48. I had to go on the website an manually change it back
- this is consistent; including changing the time of the activity multiple times adds +8 hours every time

Please advlse. Thanks

  • Yes I also appreciate the acknowledgment, I liaised with Garmin Support in December and January and am still waiting for it to be fixed to allow mobile uploads with valid time.

I am having the same problem with my vivofit. The activities sync with the correct day with the app but when I go to edit the name they sitch to the next day - before that day has even commenced. Very hard to track activity level/calories when there is false information for the day. A fix soon would be most appreciated - even just a way to manually edit the day/time of the activities from the app itself so we can fit it ourselves.
  • I guess this issue is just dead ............ not gonna be fixed.
    Or WHAT !!!????
    C'Mon man !!
  • The time stamp issue seems to be fixed, rides are now the correct time of day.

BUT, the rides still have the same time listed for time, moving time and elapsed time. Device (Edge 510) times are correct but the Garmin Connect iOS app isn't dealing with them correctly.

Garmin the problem is still not properly fixed.

I realize this thread is 2 years old, however, I am having the same issue, relating to flattening of the time & elapsed time with the moving time (all shows the same) when renaming an activity. At this point GC is at version 3.12.01, oh, and it's the android platform. I want to add that, for me, this started happening when I recently upgraded from the edge 510 to the 820 a month ago. I never had this issue with the 510. I don't remember is there was a GC update prior to my turning on the 820 for the first time, but I know there has been a few in the past month. Took me a while to figure out how it was flattening the time, but now I just need to figure out why. I called gamin on the issue a few days ago and have a case open, but, this was under the premise it was a device issue. I have emailed them all my device files as well as links to my activities with the issues. They have been pretty responsive and seem to be looking into the matter. Subsequently, when I figured out it was somehow tied to renaming in GC, I pointed it out to my case technician with screen shots and other info and I await a response. One thing I noticed, when editing an activity in GCM, which is where you can rename it, one of the options which you edit is the moving time. And the moving time that is in the edit box is what shows when it flattens. Don't know if this has any bearing on anything, it's just an observation. I'm also going to post this info in a new thread, but will report back if anything comes about.
