Live Track invite via Text Message

Unless your invitees are sitting in front of their computer at the time you workout or if they want to look at it later for whatever reason .............. I don't understand why Garmin Connect Mobile iOS doesn't allow us to send an invite to a text / cell number as well !!??
This would not only allow someone to view your activity on their cell but would also notify (whoever you wanted) that you were going out on a bike or run or whatever at that exact given time (not later whenever they got to or were at their computer).
It CAN be done (so don't use that as an excuse). Road I.D. iOS app does this very well.
Please allow this feature.
Thanks!
  • Set up their email address in connect so that it uses the SMS gateway. To send a text message by email, use the MMS or SMS gateway of your recipient's carrier with their cellphone number as the address. For example, if the recipient's phone number is (212) 555-5555 and the carrier is Verizon, address the email to [email protected].

  • Interesting, when I do this the text message doesn't get delivered in a readable way. It sends an HTML file but no link to the livetrack (to tmobile recipient).
