Auto connect bluetooth to Edge 1000

Every time I want to connect my edge 1000 to my iphone I have to turn the edge on, wait for it to look for sensors and connect, then look for bluetooth and request permission to connect. All this time I have to keep my phone out of it's sweatproof bag which lives in a deep dark pocket because I then have to press 'allow' on my iphones screen. Can't it auto connect once its paired? Another solution would be to rearrange the order of connecting so it does bluetooth before any other sensor? Even that would help.....
  • +1 for that - I know of no other app that has to ask to be allowed to connect to Bluetooth everytime after pairing? I don't really understand why that would even be of benefit to anyone...

Look at the date of this thread - this is still an issue with the 810. Once paired - it shouldn't ask for permission every time!

Does Garmin Connect Mobile actually need to be given permission, or is it just a cosmetic issue? I find my Edge 510 brings up a dialog box on the iPhone asking for permission to connect to it... but if I ignore the message, everything works anyway. It seems to be just a nuisance message that doesn't affect anything.

What happens if you have the Garmin app already open on your phone?

I have a Withings wireless blood pressure monitor. I press a button on it to connect to the iPhone. If the app is not open then the phone still asks for permission to let the BP cuff communicate to the Withings app.

In other words - this isn't a Garmin thing. It's an Apple thing.
