Garmin Connect 2.0 and Edge 510/810 syncro issues

Hi, all:

I managed to solve the Live Track issue, but now I am having repeated problems with synching data. The phone IS connected to the 810, and live track DOES work, but at the end of the ride, the data won't automatically upload from the Garmin to the phone. The Garmin says upload complete. However, the Garmin connect mobile app shows a red bar at the bottom that says sync error. Then I have to go to the file icon and upload my ride data manually. With the old version, I simply hit the save button at the end of the ride, and everything worked fine.

I have the newest firmware installed on my 810 and the newest version of Garmin connect mobile (2.0).

Anyone having similar issues or know of a fix. They've upgraded the software and downgraded the ease of use here!

Thanks,

Peter

    Garmin Connect 2.0 and Edge 510/810 syncro issues

    =========================================================
    ENGLISH VERSION
    =========================================================

    Hi everybody!

    Recently I have updated my iOS App to Mobile Connect 2.0 (20/2/14) and I experienced some problems while the iPhone 5S and Edge 510/810 was performing synchronization task. Each time it was trying to do synchronization the result was the same, Error Fault. I didn't understand why it was happening. So, I have done a few steps and now I have solved it, as follow:

    1) Delete Mobile Connect 2.0 from your iOS device, press and hold the garmin connect icon on your screen and tap the (X) on the left top corner. Erase all the data.
    2) Delete bluetooth connections in both devices, Garmin Unit and iOS device and completely turn off Garmin Unit.

    With these two steps you will have a total reset of connections between devices, now we will start to do a new link with this steps:

    3) Install again Mobile Connect 2.0 from app store (clicking here) and start it. Follow screen instructions until "Add device" tips screen.
    4) Turn On Garmin Unit.
    5) Follow the iOS screen instructions to add device, when the iOS ask you if you want to set the link with Garmin, say "YES". (Go to Garmin Unit BT Options, choose pair smartphone and do it the same in your iOS device to do so)

    Now you will have paired both devices with a consistent bluetooth link.

    6) Open again Mobile Connect 2.0 and go to home screen. The smartphone will try to sync with Garmin Unit.

    Now the "key" movement.

    7) If you Garmin Unit has several activities, workouts, routes or else, the sync time could be very long. Please, be patient, do not touch Garmin Unit or Smartphone until the Syncro will be completed. ¡This is very important! If you wanna know if the syncro is being doing, a thin blue line will be displayed in the bottom of the smartphone. This line is a progress line, check if it increases from left to right until finish the syncro.

    Once the syncro is completed, the operations between devices will be fast and more stable. Try to send a workout or route to you garmin unit, it's should be like fast as a thunder!

    I hope this tips could help you as it helped me before.

    Kind Regards!

    SPANISH VERSION
    =========================================================

    Hola a todos!

    Recientemente he actualizado mi iOS App para Mobile Connect 2.0 ( 20/2/14 ) y he experimentado algunos problemas de sincronización entre el iPhone 5S y Edge 510/810. Cada vez que trataba de hacer la sincronización, el resultado fue el mismo, ERROR. No entendía por qué sucedía esto . Así pues, he hecho unas pruebas y ahora lo he conseguido resolver, de la siguiente manera :

    1 ) Elimina Mobile Connect 2.0 en tu dispositivo iOS, presiona y manten apretado el icono Garmin Connect en la pantalla del iPhone y pulsa la (X) en la esquina superior izquierda. Borra todos los datos cuando te pregunte.
    2 ) Elimina las conexiones Bluetooth en ambos dispositivos, del Garmin y del dispositivo iOS y apagar completamente la unidad de Garmin.

    Con estos dos pasos tendrás un restablecimiento total de las conexiones entre los dispositivos, ahora vamos a empezar a hacer un nuevo vínculo con los siguientes pasos:

    3 ) Instala de nuevo la conexión móvil 2.0 desde la App Store y abre el programa. Sigue las instrucciones en pantalla hasta que aparezca "Añadir dispositivo".
    4 ) Enciende la unidad de Garmin.
    5 ) Sige las instrucciones en pantalla del iPhone para agregar el Garmin, cuando el iOS pregunte si desea establecer el vínculo con Garmin, elegir "Enlazar". (Ir a Opciones BT Garmin, elegir enparejar smartphone y hacer lo mismo en su dispositivo iOS)

    Ahora ya tendrás emparejados los dos dispositivos con un enlace bluetooth consistente.

    6 ) Abre de nuevo la aplicación Mobile Connect 2.0 y ve a la pantalla principal. El smartphone intentará sincronizar con la unidad de Garmin.

    Ahora el paso "clave".

    7 ) Si su unidad Garmin tiene muchas actividades, entrenamientos, rutas, etc, el tiempo de sincronización podría llegar a ser muy largo. Por favor, ten paciencia, no toques la unidad Garmin o Smartphone hasta que se complete la sincronizacion. ¡Esto es muy importante! Si quieres saber si están sincronizando, una línea azul delgada se mostrará en la parte inferior de la pantalla del teléfono. Esta línea es una línea de progreso, comprueba si aumenta de izquierda a derecha hasta terminar la sincronización .

    Una vez que se complete, las operaciones entre los dispositivos serán rápidas y más estables. Intenta enviar un entrenamiento o ruta a la unidad de Garmin, que debería ser rápido como un rayo!

    Espero que estos consejos os ayuden como me han ayudado a mí.

    Saludos cordiales !

    I have exactly the same issue after the update. Drove me crazy all day. Does anyone know if Garmin is working this?

    Same problem. For what it's worth this seemed to fix it: Turned off i-phone. Disabled bluetooth on 810. Turned i-phone back on. Started Garmin Connect on i-phone. Enabled bluetooth on 810. After a few seconds Phone Connected message came up on 810, followed by blue Sync bar at bottom of screen which then turned green and finally disappeared. Today's ride now showing both on Connect on i-phone AND on Garmin Connect website. Result!

    Ok, added one intermediate step. After disabling BT on 810, I powered it (810) down, then turned iPhone back on, and powered 810 on after starting Garmin connect on iPhone. Now all rides show up. Thanks LESAT74!
