Forerunner 220 help please

My phone and device stopped syncing early February. Now with the update I can't get the phone to sync with device at all. Passcodes coming up etc but not syncing. I think it should be as I am sure I am following steps properly. Help please

    I'm sorry to hear that you're experiencing sync issues with your Forerunner 220. First, make sure that you're pairing the Forerunner 220 to the Garmin Connect Mobile (iOS) application correctly. To do this, please follow these steps:

    1. Bring your iOS device within 33 ft. (10 m) of your Forerunner.
    2. From the Forerunner home screen, access the Bluetooth settings.
    o Forerunner 220: Select Menu > Settings > Bluetooth.
    3. Tap on "Pair Mobile Device".
    4. On your iOS device, Open the Garmin Connect Mobile application.
    o Ensure that Bluetooth on your iOS device is ON.
    5. Tap on the three-lined "Menu" button located in the upper-left corner.
    6. Tap on "My Device".
    7. Tap on "Add New Device".
    8. Tap on the appropriate Forerunner that you want to pair with.
    o If the Forerunner does not display on this screen, ensure that you're using a compatible iOS device, are running the latest iOS version, and have the latest version of Garmin Connect Mobile installed.
    9. Tap on "Start".
    10. Ensure that the Passkey is correct and Tap on "Yes" to pair.
    11. Tap on "Done" once the pairing is complete.

    You have now successfully paired the Garmin Connect Mobile application to your Forerunner 220. Should the sync issues persist, please try turning Bluetooth OFF and back ON within the Forerunner, itself, before attempting to pair again. It also may not hurt to reboot both the phone and the Forerunner.
