Uploading course/route to tactix

Drawing a route in connect (PC), uploading to Tactix via mobile connect - was my expectation.
Trying so, the App responds with a "the equipment is not compatible with courses" (not exactly these words - my app does not speak English).

My question: are routes and courses different things?

Besides, the 4.12 beta works fine with mobile connect.

Currently, the Garmin Connect Mobile app only supports sending courses to the Edge 510 and 810.

Unfortunately, at this time, we have not received word of any plans to add this functionality to the fenix, tactix, or D2 devices.

To answer your question, however; yes and no.

Courses are effectively the same as routes, with only a small distinction in terminology.

The term 'Route' is typically used for pre-planned automotive or outdoor paths, whereas the term 'Course' is used to refer to a pre-planned fitness related path. A small distinction to be sure, but one that helps us to distinguish the two uses.

It should be pointed out that while 'courses' cannot be transferred to the Tactix via the Connect Mobile app, 'Routes' can be transferred to the tactix via the Basecamp Mobile app. However, Routes cannot be created in the app, only transferred between a device and the phone.

In order to create a Route and load it to the tactix, you would need to make use of our PC/Mac version of Basecamp, found here, or simply create the route on the tactix itself.
