Solved: Training effect not showing until the next day.

Hi everyone,

I reported this bug at this time last year. Back then, it eventually cleared itself but I have no idea why.

The only thing that has changed for me each time this bug appears, is that the east coast of Australia either starts or stops Daylight Saving time.

I find it hard to believe that a simple change of time zone would trip up part of Garmin Connect Mobile.

To recap:

As an example, the Zwift ride I did yesterday, 5th October 2026 showed up everywhere in the ConnectMobile app except for the Performance -----> Training Effect page. It didn't become visible there until today, 6th October 2026.

Today's Zwift ride is also not showing on the Training Effect page and it won't do so until tomorrow.

Does anyone have any idea of what is happening and how to either prevent or fix it?

As this stage, an Apple Watch is looking more and more promising than upgrading this Fenix 6 Pro.

Here is the original thread.

Training effect not showing activity until the next day.

  • Hi  Please verify if you are completing two sync events between your device and Garmin Connect. After the activity is uploaded to your Garmin Connect account from the third-party platform, you will need to sync your Garmin device twice for your training metrics to update. Your Garmin device will download the activity details after the first sync, calculate your new training metrics using those details, and then upload the new information to your Connect account after the second sync.

  • Hi, thanks for replying.

It doesn't matter how times I sync my watch with GCM, the Training Effect doesn't appear until the following day.

Today, Thursday 9 October 2026, I did a ride on Zwift. I can see that activity on all the relevant pages of GCM except Training Effect.

Closing and reopening GCM makes no difference. Rebooting my iPhone makes no difference.

If I open the iOS settings app and change the date/time from Automatic to manual and then set the date to tomorrow's date, Friday 10 October 2026 and then open GCM, I can see the Training Effect for today's activity. The date range at the top of the TE page shows 3 Oct - 9.

If I then go back into the iOS settings app and change the date/time to automatic, the date is reset to today, October 9.

I then open GCM and I can see all aspects of today's activity EXCEPT Training Effect. The TE that I could see less than a minute earlier is now not visible to me.

I don't know if the Time Zone change caused by starting and stopping Daylight savings is relevant, but this problem only occurs when we make this change.

  • As expected, the TE for yesterday's Zwift ride is now visible.

I have proven that the data is present and can be viewed by changing the date on my phone so the calculations are being performed. The result of the calculation, the Training Effect just isn't able to be viewed during the current day. Clearly this is a bug.

  • Last Monday, October 12th, GCM version number 5.30.1, appeared in the App Store. I installed it immediately and I have recorded four activities since then and Training Effect was showing as I had completed each activity as it should.

I don't know if the update fixed the bug or if it is just a coincidence but I'm going to call this solved.

It will be interesting to see if the problem recurs during April 2027 when we stop Daylight Saving.
