Airpods disconnecting when garmin connect is enabled

My airpods keeps disconnecting when garmin connect is enabled in bluetooth settings. I cant use both devices, this is annoying.

    Please try the following steps to resolve this. 

    1. Unpair/forget the Garmin watch from iPhone settings and GCM.
    2. Forget the Bluetooth headphones from iPhone settings.
    3. Reset iPhone Network Settings: Settings > General > Transfer or Reset iPhone > Reset > Reset Network Settings
      (This restarts the system's Bluetooth configuration.)
    4. Power cycle both the iPhone and the Garmin watch
    5. Re-pair the watch and headphones.
