Persistent "Remove & Reconnect Device" Loop on iOS (Fenix 5 Plus)

Device: Fenix 5 Plus

Platform: iOS / Garmin Connect App

Problem Description:

For a couple of months now, my Garmin Connect iOS app continuously disconnects from my Fenix 5 Plus, displaying the red dot status icon and triggering the error pop-up: "Remove & Reconnect Device: Your fenix 5 Plus is no longer connected. First remove the device, and then you'll be guided through the steps to reconnect it."

Behavior & Trigger:

This error occurs reliably every time the watch momentarily loses Bluetooth range (e.g., walking into another room) or shortly after completing an activity sync. Upon losing connection, the app forces a full removal and re-pairing sequence instead of automatically restoring the background connection.

Troubleshooting Already Attempted (Unsuccessful):

1. Standard Unpair & Re-pair: Removed the device inside Garmin Connect and paired again.

2. Full System Cleardown: Deleted the Garmin Connect app entirely, cleared/forgot the device in iOS Bluetooth settings, reset phone and watch, and reinstalled/re-paired.

3. Background Settings: Verified that Location Permissions (Always) and Background App Refresh are toggled on in iOS settings.

4. Firmware: Device firmware and iOS Garmin Connect app are updated to the latest versions.

The problem reoccurs within minutes of re-pairing as soon as Bluetooth range is broken. Requesting investigation into the connection/re-bonding handling between the app and iOS.
