Hello,
I’m experiencing a discrepancy between theActive Calories shown on my Forerunner 970 and the value shown in Garmin Connect.
The issue seems to affect only the Calories widget on the watch. Other daily metrics, such as steps, resting calories, heart rate, etc., appear to sync correctly.
This does not concern a recorded activity such as Running or Walking. The discrepancy happens during normal daily movement. For example, today I simply walked to the supermarket without starting any activity on the watch.
The steps were recorded correctly, and the watch itself also shows increased activity in the calories graph during that period. However, the Active Calories total shown in the Calories widget remained at 29 kcal, while Garmin Connect showed 61 active kcal.
Resting calories were almost identical between the watch and Garmin Connect, and all other data appeared properly synchronized.
I also tried:
- manually syncing with Garmin Connect;
- syncing through Garmin Express;
- connecting the watch to Wi-Fi.
The discrepancy remained only in the Active Calories value displayed on the watch.
It therefore looks as if the activity is being detected correctly and Garmin Connect is receiving/consolidating the correct calorie data, but the Active Calories total in the Forerunner 970 Calories widget is not refreshing correctly.
Has anyone else experienced this on the Forerunner 970? Could this be a widget/display synchronization issue rather than an actual calorie calculation issue?
