Hey everyone,
Curious if anyone else has run into this sync behavior between Garmin Connect and Strava, or if anyone has figured out a reliable workaround.
The two main scenarios where this happens:
Cirqa Auto Activity Detection Prompt: When my Garmin Cirqa automatically detects a walk, Garmin Connect gives me a prompt to confirm if the activity was detected correctly. Right there in that prompt, I edit the start time to reflect when I actually began walking and hit save. Even though the edit is made directly during that initial confirmation step, Garmin Connect still pushes the original, unedited start time and distance over to Strava.
Treadmill Runs: When adjusting the total distance in Garmin Connect after a treadmill session to match the treadmill display, Garmin updates properly on its end, but Strava stays locked onto the original uncalibrated distance.
In both cases, Garmin Connect saves the correct details on the Garmin platform, but the data sent to Strava completely bypasses the edits and sends the raw original values.
Right now, the only fix is deleting the activity on Strava, exporting the updated FIT file via Garmin Connect Web, and uploading it manually to Strava. Doing this multiple times a week gets old fast.
A few questions for the community:
Has anyone else noticed Garmin pushing the raw detected data to Strava even when you adjust the values inside the initial auto detect confirmation prompt?
Is there any setting in Garmin Connect Mobile or Web to force a re push of updated activity data to connected third party accounts?
Does anyone have a workflow or fix to ensure Strava receives the corrected start time and distance without having to manually re upload files?
Appreciate any insights or advice from anyone who has dealt with this!
