Are you force closing (swiping out of) the app or is it open most of or all day? How frequently are you syncing your watch with the app?
I got out of the app by swiping to Home Screen but I do not go to open apps and close it manually. The watch is syncing whenever I open the app? A few times a day, I guess 4 or 5
I have the same issue and what's worse, the app is running in the background despite turning background refresh completely off.
Connect has been draining my batter since updating to ios26 and it keeps running in the background despite disabling background app refresh. The first photo shows its regular behavior (draining half of my battery overnight), while the second photo is after doing the steps recommended in this post earlier (i.e. uninstalling and re-installing the app): RE: Garmin Connect draining my iPhone battery
It's very frustrating, please address this issue as my phone went from old but great to barely usable.
If you are never manually closing the app and leaving it open on the phone (even while in other apps) and background refresh is enabled so the watch is consistently syncing this could be using some additional battery. If you can test this out by closing the app when you are not actively looking at it and see if it continues to have the same amount of battery use on your phone, then we can investigate this further.

I’m having the exact same issue. I tried closing the apps, uninstalling and reinstalling them, and even resetting my Bluetooth, but nothing has changed.
