Feature Request: Bidirectional Hydration Sync (Apple Health → Garmin Connect)

Hello everyone,

Currently, Garmin Connect reliably exports hydration data to Apple Health. However, the synchronization only works in one direction.

The Proposal I would like to see Garmin Connect read hydration data from Apple Health and import it into Connect during synchronization (bidirectional sync).

Why is this important? Many users rely on specialized apps or smart devices that write their data directly into the Apple Health ecosystem. In my case, these include:

  • Brita Water App (for daily hydration)

  • HiCoffee (for caffeine and fluid balance)

The Problem Since Garmin does not import this data from Apple Health, there is often a gap in the Garmin Connect overview. Users either have to manually re-enter the data in Garmin (double the effort) or deal with incomplete statistics. This inconsistency affects the overall picture of daily recovery and training readiness.

It would be a great feature if Garmin could fully utilize Apple Health as a "Single Source of Truth" to improve the user experience for iOS users. Since the export interface already exists, adding the import functionality to the Connect Hydration API would be a logical and highly appreciated next step.

What are your thoughts? Do you also use external apps for tracking and miss the automatic import?

Best regards, Alex
