Hi everyone
I think my Garmin and the Garmin Connect App are not working out my calories remaining correctly.
For example, I am currently on a nutrition plan to lose 1kg a week. This makes my Daily Calorie Goal 1661, with a calorie deficit of roughly 1,000 a day to meet the 7,000 weekly deficit (roughly 2 pounds/1 kg)
However, I exercise most days and get at least 10,000 steps daily so I set the Auto Adjust Calorie goal to be on, as this is quite a low number of calories for the amount of walking and exercise I do.
On Monday, my active and resting calories burned combined was 3,185 and I ate 2,175 calories.
However, according to my Garmin, I still had 619 calories left to eat. Surely this cannot be correct? If I ate these calories, I would surely be in deficit by only a few hundred calories (2175+619 = 2794) 3185-2794 = 391.
Am I completely misunderstanding how Garmin works out calories remaining? At the moment I am just doing my own maths to work out what I need to eat based on what I have burned, but this is quite annoying to do every day when the app should be doing this for me.
Is it because Garmin is counting additional calories burned that aren't showing?
Would really appreciate any help on this as it is really confusing!
Thanks!
