New Gear tracking

Does anyone else hate the new Gear tracking? I didn't realize I have to take the extra step of removing gear from tracking now, whereas before i could easily switch between different pairs of shoes.  With this recent update, apparently my activities were getting added for three different pairs of shoes! It's also harder to tell which gear is being actively tracked. Not a fan.

  • No. When I added my new shoes all I need to do was make it the default for my running activities. I did have to remove the others though.

Verify that only one pair of the shoes is set as default for given discipline. Or, if you prefer always assigning the shoes manually, do not make default any of them.

  • Yes, I agree and cannot stand it. The Tracked Activities section no longer shoes the mileage covered in each activity, and instead shows the time. For why????? Even when the gear specifically says to track distance.

Strange. On my side there is both the distance and the time at each activity on the Tracked Activities list:

  • Hello trux - thanks for taking the time to share your information. I'm on the Web Version of Garmin Connect, and in the gear section, it's not displaying the miles, just the time. It previously showed the miles, but not the time. I went to the edit screen and confirmed the gear was tracking mileage, as there is now an option to track time, mileage, or date. Also tried this with adding new gear, and no success.
