Cardio activity for exercise bike

I’m about to buy an exercise bike for when I can’t get out to ride. I don’t want to use one of the subscription offerings as my needs are simple. I just want the bike as a way of exercising in bad weather. Looking at the options, it appears that I would use the Cardio activity to record my workouts. Is that correct or am I missing something.

Which Garmin watch are you using, and do you have any sensors like a cadence or speed sensor? Different watches offer different activity profiles, and whether you have sensors affects whether Indoor Bike or Cardio is the better choice.

I am using a Venu 3S. As far as I can see, the bike doesn’t have sensors. That’s why I thought that Cardio would be the way to go. I really just want to be able to record an activity and see my heart data.

With the Venu 3 and no other Garmin sensors, I’d definitely recommend using the cardio profile.
