Garmin still disconnecting

My Garmin forerunner 965 is still having connection issues. I have followed all troubleshooting from Garmin and it’s still failing to remain connected. The Garmin connect update helped but after it working all of this morning it’s gone back to its old tricks of not recognising the watch.  This issue is lasting for too long and needs to be fixed permanently. Never had an issue with it in the 18months prior that I have had this watch and the last few weeks have been painful.  If anyone has any other tips I would love to hear them but I feel like I’ve deleted, reloaded the apps and turned on/off my phone and watch more than I ever have in their lifetime

  • Please double check that you have removed the watch from your phones Bluetooth settings and the Connect app is up to date with software. We recently pushed a new software version out to help. When re-connecting your device you would open the Connect app and then you would select the plus icon in the top right corner. This will search for the device, if it does not find it then select to expand the search which should fix the issue.

If it does not, please update this thread to let us know!

  • Yeah I have done this and it comes up no accessories found despite the watch Bluetooth mode attempting to search. I updated the Garmin connect app the moment I saw it in the App Store due to the constant issues. It worked for the morning and then it went straight back to the previous issues

  • My Epix Gen2 is not connecting to iPhone and iPad all with updated Connect, after following all above and instruction. Apple device will not show Epix in BT and Epix shows Waiting for Phone.

  •   If you watch shows a message for Waiting for Phone that does not mean that it is in pairing mode, you will need to go into the watch settings > Phone (or Connectivity depending on the model then Phone) > Pair Phone. You will also need to check that the device is removed from Bluetooth settings then go into the Connect app to search for the watch.

  •  Since it is still disconnecting, I will send you an email to get more info to get a ticket going. Please double-check that you received this email!

  • I had already deleted my F7X Pro SS from BT, restarted my phone, paired it again but turns out that every morning I have to turn phone’s BT off and on in order to sync.

  • Hi there, are you still experiencing this with connect 5.23.1?

  • I have the same issue with my Fenix 8. Watch only connects when turning off bluetooth off and on again and it's been like that for weeks. I'm currently on connect 5.24.0.10.

  • Please confirm you are doing the following in order:

    • Uninstall Garmin Connect from your phone
    • Remove/forget watch from your phone's Bluetooth
    • Power off and back on both your phone and your watch
    • Reinstall Garmin Connect app on your phone
    • Pair your watch:
    • Upload a video or screenshot/picture of what your Connect app shows when trying to pair the watch if pairing is unsuccessful
