Unable to pair Garmin device to Garmin Connect iOS

With the new update of the Connect app for iOS (5.21.0.28), the way the bluetooth pairing is done with a Garmin device seems to have changed. It is now listed as an accessory for iOS.

However, with the new Connect version I cannot pair my GPSMAP H1 anymore. I can pair with Explore app just fine, but when trying to connect to the Connect app, the app doesn't find the H1. I tried various combinations, like trying to pair only with Connect app, or first with Explore app and then with Connect app, but only pairing with Explore seems to work. The Connect app asks to search for an accessory, but it keeps searching without finding the H1 and eventually reports it cannot find any accessory. Manually selecting the device model in Connect app also doesn't work.

How can I connect my H1 with the Connect app?

  • Doesn't work for me either (Fenix 6 Saphire).

Now, the device doesn't even show up under available BT devices

  • Im in the same position. Nothing I do fixes the issue. Please address this immediately

  • Confirmed.

I cannot imagine how this bug of high impact went through Garmin's internal test.

Maybe we the users should be blamed again that we do not provide enough testers to Garmin?

    Phew, what an expereienc again!

  • And just using the app for less than a minutes, I found another bug: if you tap on "Fitness age" in Health tab, GC app freezes and after 15-20 seconds it shuts itself down.

Tried 3 times, both tapping it as the first choice after opening the app then after Weight, and after Health Snapshot.

  • Didn't work for me.   Vivismart 5.  I went through these steps three times.

  • I was able to solve this by doing the following:

    • delete Garmin Connect App from phone
    • delete Garmin Connect IQ App from phone
    • forget phone from GPSMAP H1
    • remove GPSMAP H1 from iOS bluetooth settings
    • remove GPSMAP H1 from Garmin Explore iOS app
    • remove GPSMAP H1 from Garmin Connect web
    • pair GPSMAP H1 with Garmin Connect app
    • accept prompt to pair GPSMAP H1 with Explore app

Too bad this is needed after a Garmin Connect app update...

  • I cannot imagine how this bug of high impact went through Garmin's internal test.

    "We tested this."

    -Who did?

    "We did".

    -Who is we?

"All of the people who tested it."

Garmin QA: Good enough, ship it!

I finished a ride and found it all disconnected, also. Several sets of Rally pedals as well as my phone. I re-paired my phone which required removing all of the Bluetooth connections in iOS for it to be successful.

  • I explained my frustration with the latest F7 beta phase to Garmin representative, they pushed an instable release, but everything is fine ...

I'm flying to Coros, and i'm already part of the beta tester program, i will see

  • Unable to pair my Garmin Forerunner 55 and my iPhone. When I go into Bluetooth it doesn’t show my Garmin. I’ve turned Bluetooth on and off, turned phone on and off, switched watch to “phone connection required” and still isn’t showing up on my Bluetooth devices.
