No more Heart Rate history data in Garmin Connect IOS

I updated from a Garmin Fenix 6 to a Fenix 8 about a month ago. Since then I cannot see the heart rate history in the Gamin Connect IOS APP. I tried to re-connect  the watch but no change. I can see heart rate in the training data but not general over the day like befor with my Fenix 6.

  • Does the watch show the heart rate when you are not recording any activity? If not, then you may have accidentally disabled it, or have enabled the Battery Saver. If the watch does show HR without issues, then I would verify that the watch is set as the Primary Wearable Device. Although it should not matter in this case, it may be safer anyway. Otherwise, there are more tips for cases like yours, in the Troubleshooting guide for (some) data missing after syncing.

  • I found out what the issue was. I had to enable some tracking options. The menu structure has become a bit difficult to navigate now. After changing the setting yesterday evening I can't even find the menu any more that I set. But what it did was to enable daily steps. Which I had disabled with my Fenix 6. Enabling that also enabled the heart rate tracking.
Before I saw the heart rate inside activities but not over the day in Garmin Connect. Now I see the heart rate for all day including resting bpm.
