[Bug & Feature Request]

Moving to Garmin Nutrition from Carbon diet app. Couple of initial thoughts and a bug discovered this morning:

Is there a way to make recipes? That way I can log a portion of a collection of if ingredients. E.g. I make my week’s breakfast in bulk and the daily logging is a portion of the total  

Also, should be able to duplicate meals, not just individual foods. Think meal prep where I initially log everything for a Monday then copy/paste it Tuesday-Friday  

Lastly, when duplicating food, if you accidentally select a day then you cannot deselect it. You have to cancel the whole action and restart.

    I also see issues with

    • logging food and it defaults to a generic time rather than current time. It should provide current time ask me or if I want to log to a meal or a snack. 

    • If i log food outside the defined meal windows, I can’t seem to move them into say lunch or dinner window 
    • searching foods is sometimes jankey. Sometimes it finds the food, sometimes it doesn’t. Often if i specify something with an apostrophe it breaks the search. E.g. Wendy Vs Wendy’s  

    Great app functionality besides those items so far!

  • Yes, you can make a meal, however I can’t just take today’s lunch and copy/paste it across selected days as I wish. For clarity, when I say “meal”, I mean in the logging timeline, not the custom foods menus. 

    That food search struggle is real haha

  • It’s a meal logger, not a meal planner. Just create a meal and use the saved meal when you eat. I do see what you are saying. Layout what you plan to eat ahead of time. The main problem is what if you just eat different foods instead. That is a bunch of extra work just to delete and log new foods.

    I’m also encountering the same questions as I move from Carbon Diet to Garmin Nutrition. Being able to create recipes would be a huge help so that I can log portions of a batch of ingredients rather than adding everything individually each day it would make meal prep tracking so much smoother. I also agree that duplicating entire meals, not just single foods, is essential for planning ahead. And the current issue where you can’t deselect a day when duplicating a culver food is frustrating; having to restart the whole process is really inconvenient. Hoping Garmin can address these features soon.
