Nutrition feature is hard to read and inaccurate

As an older adult, reading the new nutrition panel, which forcefully replaced the older version that was perfect, is not a good change in my opinion. I wish I could get the old panel back, but that is no longer available. I cannot see how many calories I have remaining without clicking in to the node and even then it is printed so small, I need to put on glasses to see it. Additionally, the other things like fat, protein and carbs do not even show. I have reconnected myFitnessPal and restarted the watch and phone, but it still does not work.

You have taken away one of my favorite features of the app. Please put it back or at least give us a choice.

  • I agree.
Connect is becoming less useful to me. Garmin now obsessed with $$$ from me for data that I’m giving them for free. The nutrition data is already calculated in My Fitness Pal but doesn’t transfer.

  • Yes, the new Nutrition app is useless. It lags behind and takes several seconds to get data from MyFitnessPal and even then does not pull over the data it is supposed to and the display of that data is way too small for the amount of space that panel has. I used to love Connect and Garmin, but now I am thinking I might need to look for something else.

  • You can find the steps to link MyFitnessPal and data that is synced here: Steps to Link Your Garmin Connect Account with MyFitnessPal

We are always looking to improve our apps. Please fill out our ideas form so we are able to get that over to our team of innovators: garmin.com/ideas

  • I been trying to do this, but its not working for me (I already have a post about it in this forum)

I have a Connect+ subscription, is that why I get this message, see screenshot

  • I have done that, and I still do not see the results. Also, it is very slow to sync the calories even. After making a change in MyFitnessPal, it does not pull back the calories (which is the only thing it seems to pull back) for several seconds to a minute or more.

  • I followed the steps in your link to connect and I agreed, but now it does not even sync down the calories from MyFitnessPal and it shows the device is not connected. This nutrition things is soooo broken. No way anyone should pay for broken stuff.

  • I was trying in app and Safari OS X, but when try with Google Crome, it was working. But first have to delete your goal in Garmin Nutrition.

But anyway, you only get total calories to connect app, doesn't show protein, carbs or fat

  • Yes, I was able to finally get it connected with the web app on my mac, but like you it only shows calories and none of the others, but those take up a lot of space. I think the nutrition panel is now worthless and a very bad design. I hope they fix it. I liked the old one they had.

  • You can improve the app by not changing how the Calories information that has been imported and displayed from My Fitness Pal since at least September 2016.
Just reinstate what we had. I can’t see or recall anybody insisting that this data needed to change.

its just another money grab by Garmin who are ignoring long term customers and removing usable and friendly features for new data that is poorly displayed and in current format is useless. Why would anybody want to dump 9 years of data (in my case) and starting again to reenter data.

  • I subscribed to Garmin Connect+ to see if this would give access to the macros, like protein, fat etc from MyFitnesspal.

    It doesn’t. Bye bye Connect+
