Automatic Sleep Schedules Issue: No Way to Disable Automatic Schedule and use Fully Manual Sleep Mode (Its been a very long time since this has been brought up, PLEASE)

Recently, Ive purhased an epix 2 pro sapphire, and I am having the best experience out of any smartwatch I have used and is more than satisfied; except for one god damn forsaken thing.

Now that I've searched about it for quite a fair bit, Im aware a lot of Garmin users (including me) are running into the same issue with Sleep Mode:

  1. You cannot fully disable the automatic sleep schedule. Even if you turn off Sleep Mode manually, the watch will often turn it back on as soon as the scheduled window starts.

  2. You cannot use Sleep Mode purely manually. For people with irregular sleep patterns (shift workers, students, etc.), the forced schedule causes Sleep Mode to activate at the wrong time or fail to activate when needed.

  3. There is no official option in Garmin Connect or on the watch to remove the schedule entirely. Users have resorted to workarounds like setting a “1-minute schedule,” which doesn’t solve the core problem and leads to more problems.

  4. Because Sleep Mode feeds into metrics like HRV Status, Training Readiness, and Recovery, inaccurate sleep windows make the data misleading.

This has been discussed on multiple Garmin forums, Reddit threads, and across different watch models. Despite that, Garmin still hasn’t added a “Manual-only Sleep Mode” option or a setting to disable the schedule.

See, here is my solution.

Let users disable the automatic schedule. Then allow the sleep mode to be manually triggered through controls, then to be disabled upon the next alarm ring or whatever condition.

Isnt that hard, is it?

Leaving this here to gather more visibility, feedback, and hopefully help push Garmin toward giving us proper control over Sleep Mode. Please take your time to contact Garmin, email them, do whatever you can if you are one of the countless people who want this solved.

Please Garmin, as the smartwatch company I consider the best, would you stop procrastinating your axx and just get this implemented ASAP?
