Garmin Coach Plans will not let me create a trainng plan

Attempting to create a Garmin Coach Plan for a virtual event, but when I get to the final step to select the event it says I can't enter a distance.  Sequence is:

1. Garmin Coarch Plans> Find a Plan >Find a Plan from Get Started with Garmin Coach > Train for an Event > I accept > Cycling, Gravel Cycling, Next > 5 - 9 hrs/week , Next > This is a distance based event, enter 340 miles, Next > Finish with a time goal, next > Goal time 33:30, Next > Set Up a Plan > select all days, Next ? long ride select Saturday, Next > No Strength Workouts , Next > Find a Race > none exist so select Create an Event > type in "IWR" for the event, in-person, Next > Select April 18, Next > Yes is race > select Public and Searchable > select Winterset, IA as the location, start time 4:00 AM, Next > No got image, enter web site iowawindandrock.com, add note "unsuported gravel race", review entries - now I want to Add to Plan but the distance it flagged (red exclamation mark) with a note below it that says "Distance cannon be edited on Garmin Coach Plans -> so this leaves me  note able to create and save the event and I can't create a Train for Event plan because I can't create the event.

    Have you tried creating the event first?

    I have not.  I was honestly just playing around with the app to see what training plans would look like.  It seems to work when I create the event first.  Seems it would be nice not to allow the user to go down the create event from within the create a plan path if you are not going to be able to complete the event first.  Should the "Create and Event" field be removed from the create a plan path?

    It should work and it is probably good to have it there so you don't have to do everything all over again, but then it must work.

    I'm sorry, I didn't understand your last response.  When I tried to create the training plan prior to having the event created it woudl not let me complete creating the plan.  I tried this multiple times.  As soon as I created the event and linked to that it worked.  If this works for other activities, is there an issue with the lenghth of the activity that is causing a problem (340 miles)?

    It is a bug. I think it is good to have the opportunity to create the event while creating the plan.

    I have exactly same issue. I need to comeback to running after long break. Had used garmin coutch in past and was very happy. Last few days trying to set it up but show me the error everyday….
