The run has been logged on my fenix 8 and appears in the activity logs, but it does not appear on my Garmin Connect and therefore not on Strava. This is the third time that happens. Can anyone help?

Try syncing over the USB cable to a computer with Garmin Express. If it does not help, try importing the corresponding FIT file manually. If you get an error, post the zipped file here, and a friendly fellow user may try to fix the broken file.

In that case you can try fixing it using the FIT File Viewer

As mentioned, FIT File Viewer will fix the file so at least you can import it into Garmin Connect Web. However, much of the data, like a valid GPS track will be missing.
