Ran 5 miles today and the run is in my Fenix 8 history but won't sync to the app

I have a new fenix 8 Pro - 51mm. I just did a PR training run but it won't appear in the app. I've dug around on this forum but there doesn't seem to be a way with Mac OSX to manually get it into the app. I can see all the training data for the run on the watch. This is a real deal-breaker for me: i just moved from Polar and I now regret it. Any way I can get this run into the app?

  • Have you tried a manual upload from your Garmin device to Garmin Connect Web? These directions include steps for MacOS - How Do I Manually Upload an Activity I Recorded to Garmin Connect?

If the upload is successful, it will show up in Garmin Connect Web as well as the Garmin Connect app, as they share the same database. If you get an error message, then there is a problem with the file. You can try to repair the file using 3rd-party tools, such as FIT File Viewer. Runs in the browser and requires no additional software. If you're still unable to import the activity into Garmin Connect, attach the file to this thread. We can take a look to see if it is repairable.

    • Zip the file, then in a reply post Insert >> Image/video/file >> click Upload >> browse for file >> OK.
    • Or upload the fit file to a file sharing service, such as OneDriveGoogle DriveDropbox, make the file public, then paste a link to the file in your post.

If you cannot view the files on a Mac using Finder, you probably will need something like OpenMTP.
