Activity - Corrupt file?

Hi.

I went running 1:10 yesterday as part of a schedule program. When I finished, my battery was 17%.

It said I finished the training and even asked me for the level of difficulty, which I selected. However, it did not save the run. I charged the watch to 100%, turned it off/on again. I even synch again with my app on my phone. It won’t show.

On the watch I see I did a run but only the « delete button » seems available. And on my phone, I can’t see the training either but in the calendar it shows the number of steps made, but not the run itself.

Anything I can do please?

I contacted Garmin and the file appears on my watch, I tried to import it on my Windows computer but once I try to upload it on my Garmin Connect, it says that the file is not suported (even though it is a .fit file). Any help?

First make sure you're using a Chromium-based browser, such as Google Chrome or Microsoft Edge for the upload, as currently browsers like Safari and Firefox will not work. See thread - Problems uploading .fit file using Firefox or Safari

If still issues even on Edge or Chrome, try to repair it using a 3rd-party tool, such as FIT File Viewer

If after that, you're still having problems, attach the file to this thread. We can take a look to see if it is repairable.

    • Zip the file, then in a reply post Insert >> Image/video/file >> click Upload >> browse for file >> OK.
    • Or upload the fit file to a reputable file sharing service, such as OneDriveGoogle DriveDropbox, make the file public, then paste a link to the file in your post.
  • Thank you. I've tried and this is the message I get:

There were issues decoding this file

    • The file is invalid: This may happen when the file was written before the activity was completed, e.g. because the battery died or the app crashed.

  • Then attach it here for more assistance. Alternatively, you can send me a private message.

  • Did you click on "Download fixed FIT File"?

I did and was able to get a repaired file and successfully import into Garmin Connect using Google Chrome.

  • You are right! I thought by seing the message of issues I couldn't download it. I was able too. Thank you so much! :)
