authorized viewer no longer has access privileges?

Hello everyone,

A friend and I gave each other "authorized viewer" access at the beginning of the summer. It worked just fine until a few weeks ago.

Now, when either of us tries to view the other's account, we see this:

We have not changed any settings and have no idea why things aren't working.

Any ideas?

  • It is just the Home page you do not have access to. If you go to a specific page, like for example the Activities, or the Health stats, you can see the data (at least, I do).

  • Yes, you are correct! If you select the menu, it is possible to look through those pages.

    Still, I wonder what has changed, because for many months, IT WAS POSSIBLE to see the Home Page.

    This is a work around, but I still think there is an error in the system somewhere, because the initial page that appears sure looks like access privileges have been revoked.

  • They probably changed it for privacy reasons. The authorized user is not supposed to see all (the full list what the authorized user can see, and cannot see, is available in the article Garmin Connect App: Sharing Your Garmin Connect Account | Garmin Customer Support), and since the home screen may contain some elements otherwise not viewable, it was simpler to ban the access to it completely.

    Yes, it seems the Home Page is no longer accessible to an Authorized User. Perhaps it used to be, and the changed occurred recently (late summer 2025).
