iOS: Sync my watch without opening app every time

Is there a way to sync my watch with the Connect Mobile app on iOS without opening the app? Yes, I have 'Background App Refresh' enabled.

Which watch? Most newer watches have a sync option. Typically, hold the light/power button to open the controls menu, then select sync.

Venu Sq. Sync in settings is enabled. What's weird is that when I had this connected to my old Android, the sync worked almost instantly and automatically. Rarely had to open the app.

Do you force close the app? On iPhone that will keep it closed so never do that. If you do the same on Android the app will automatically start again in the background to handle the syncing.
