Garmin stole my 5k PB

Went all in for a 5k PB today – 20:45 on the clock, totally wrecked at the line. Forgot to stop the watch for 48s, and Garmin cheekily logged that as my PB Sweat smile But I was definitely through the 5k – the graph shows it crystal clear . Anyone else had this happen? Can you even edit PBs on Garmin, or am I stuck with it? Guess I’ll just have to smash sub-20 next time

Yes, that's how it is designed to work. Either you stop the watch accurately at 5km, and get the PR for the accurate distance, or you run more than 5079 meters (could be even 100km), and the watch will select the fastest 5k from the entire run. It is done intentionally, because at official races, the distance measured by the watch is rarely exactly the same as the official race distance even if the watch is 100% accurate (for example because you did not run in the optimal path). That's why there is certain tolerance - the system assumes you either want to measure the official race, and stop the activity when you cross the line, or you rely on the watch and run a bit further without stopping the activity.
