I cannot get my Garmin 1040 to connect to my iPhone even when it says there is one to connect

It says it recognises a 1040 but won't connect

  • Make sure the device is removed/forgotten from the list of Bluetooth devices in the Settings of your iPhone (very important !!!), and that there is no other phone or tablet nearby connected to it, and that the Edge 1040 is in pairing mode, before you attempt to pair it to the phone through Garmin Connect
