Course points being strip by Garmin Connect

Hi Guys,

Recently we've got the awesome news that now Garmin Connect can import FIT files containing course points, but not all are flowers.

Unfortunately, all directional course points are stripped when importing using Garmin Connect which does not happen if you copy and paste the same fit file directly to Garmin's Garmin/NewFiles folder.

Please Garmin, make it full!

By directional course points I meant the directional arrows on the chart bellow.

I know that even copying the file directly, those arrows and others in the chart don't show on the upAhead list but they do show on the map and as "next Point" and "Dist. to next" fields.

That does sound new and exciting, but I cannot locate a related statement from Garmin.

They haven’t but it does. Just test it .

Do you have the Course Points option enabled in the map settings of Garmin Connect Courses? See the post of seilogramp at https://forums.garmin.com/apps-software/mobile-apps-web/f/garmin-connect-web/418323/create-course-point-with-garmin-connect-not-working for more details. As he writes there, you can also try disabling, then re-enabling it, and import the file anew.

Only the “directional ones” don’t appear.

All others are ok.

Maybe the reason behind that is the fact they are not present on Garmin Connect when you build your course and course points using it.

But if you create a course on an 3rd party app including “directional course points” and copy and paste it using an usb cabe directly to Garmin’s Garmin/NewFiles all of them will show. No altering need to any configuration on the device.

I use that for years but with the hassle of having to send the file through an usb cable.

When I’ve got the news of GC been able to import a FIT file with custom course points I thought my dream had come true but it is still not complete the case yet.
