Discrepancy in Target Pace Display Between Garmin Connect Website and Mobile App

After completing a workout, I noticed a discrepancy in how the target pace metrics are displayed in Garmin Connect .

The issue is as follows:
  • After uploading the activity, the target pace zones are displayed correctly on the website .
  • However, in the mobile app (iOS) , the same activity shows different or missing target pace indicators .
  • This leads to confusion when reviewing my training performance on the go.
Could you please advise:
  1. Why there is a difference in how target pace data is displayed between the website and the mobile app?
  2. Is there a way to fix this so that the mobile app shows the same target metrics as the website?
  • I do not see this discrepancy on my workouts, though I run an old app version. I already saw a similar report here on the forum (cannot find it right now). Looks like a bug and I recommend reporting it to the Support, since I do not think you can fix it yourself. You could try switching from the Time to Distance mode (see the big buttons above the charts), or trim the activity to the starting point of the workout, but I am uncertain whether it helps.

BTW, did you start the workout in the same time as the activity, or only later when the activity was already in progress?

  • I started a workout from Jeff's program: warm-up, a couple of exercises, interval running, cool-down. During the interval run, I noticed that the goals in the phone app were displayed incorrectly. I checked the website — everything looks fine there
I’ve noticed similar issues in other workouts as well.

  • Don’t tell me that the zones are correct, anywhere. If they where correct, the lower border wouldn’t sit on the x-axis but at the lower pace you put into the workout.
This is something Garmin didn’t understand when redesigning Connect Web 10 years ago and they are still not able to implement it. The way it is done, it is useless. It’s a line and not a zone they visualize.
