Bought forerunner 255 to replace dead 245 - How do I restore missing data?

I had to replace a dead battery Forerunner 245 with a forerunner 255. It automatically synced via my iphone to my garmin connect account. When I go look at the account I can see both watches showing but now the 255 is the primary watch.

All data going back to June 2020 is gone.

How do I get it back? I am looking at the account both via my iphone connect app and via a browser.

This is NOT a case of me creating a new account. It paired automatically to my garmin connect app on my phone.

  • Wanted to add: I removed device, logged out of phone app. Then logged back in and re-paired the device. I am missing all historical sleep data - I think that is the only data that I am currently missing.

    I hope to recover the sleep data.

  • No data is deleted from your Garmin Connect account when you add a new watch. If you miss sleep data from the old watch, then it was probably never there. I cannot imagine any way how existing sleep data could be removed from an account. Or are you missing the sleep data from the new watch?
