Garmin doesn’t count zwift’s data of activities

Hello All!

for some reason my Garmin connect stop showing the activities done on Zwift in Recovery, training load and so on. As far as I remember the Zwift is fully integrated within Garmin Connect.
For example today’s workout (on the left)

is visible with all data but it doesn’t appear in training load…. There is no workout from 8th April - on the right. I have checked that zwift is added to app in garmin connect but still it doesn’t work as expected. Do you have any idea what’s wrong? I am new to garmin but with Polar everything was much easierSweat smile

  • The values are calculated on a compatible Garmin device. Zwift uploads the data to Garmin Connect, then the Garmin device downloads that data, do the calculations and then uploads the calculated values to Garmin Connect.

Make sure your Garmin device is on so it can do its work.

  • thanks for reply -  I got Epix Pro (Gen2) but as far as I understood I dont have to use that garmin device during the activity because Zwift is official partner and there is automatically upload of all of data.
I found a lot of complains and threads related to that issue with garmin - part of users say that there is no need to double the activity (one acitivy on Zwift and second on Garmin) but rest say that its necessary.. What's the official approach recommended by Garmin?

As you can see the garmin connect got all data for calculating the trianing load/recovery time but it doesnt count.

  • Do you have heart rate logged in the activity?

You don't have to use the Garmin device during the activity. Just make sure it can download the activity and do the calculations. Since it is a watch I assume you got it on pretty much all the time so that should work.

Training status is based on VO2 max and training load. To make training status update from activities done on Zwift you must meet these requirements:

    • The app must be linked to your Garmin Connect account.

    • You must have a Training Status capable device that you are actively recording running or cycling activities with. If you remove your compatible device from Garmin Connect, you will not receive Training Status data from a third-party or Tacx app activity.

    • Physio TrueUp must be enabled on your Garmin device

    That should all work.

What Is the Training Status Feature on My Garmin Device?

  • In acitivty details which I provided in 1st post I got the heart rate, power meter rates and so on...

ad.1. The app is linked in Garmin Connect (also I had turned on sending data from garmin to zwift and from zwift to garmin) Can attache screenshot if needed.

ad.2. contradiction information - at the begining you mentioned that I dont have to use garmin watch during the activity, but there you pointed out that I have to got that... I am not able to add zwift as Device just like Watch or other garmin device or I missed something or just misunderstanding.

ad.3. there is no such option in settings... I was looking for it yesterday and found some topics that this option is not longer visible as it always swtiched ON.

I think that I dont have to even wear the watch during zwift session, right?

  • I don't see the heart rate in your image.

You don't have to use the watch during the activity. You have to use it afterwards so it can download the Zwift activity from Garmin Connect, do the calculations and then upload the values to Garmin Connect. It just needs to sync a couple of times. Nothing else.

Zwift is not added as a device. You just connect it as a service. That is how it automatically can upload the ride to Garmin Connect.

Physio TrueUp was removed a long time ago from the settings for Epix Gen 2 and newer models. It still exists for older ones.

You don't need to wear the watch during the ride, but some values like intensity minutes, all-day heart rate requires that, but it is irrelevant to the issue here.

  • Thanks for explanation! Yea you are right. There is no HR on screen but I checked it before I posted

As you can see there is everything fine on my side so I decide to remove Zwift/Garmin connection and set it again. Tomorrow I will check again if everything is working as expected… I spoke with local support and they confirm that all metrics should be successfully exported from zwift to garmin but it sometime doesn’t work and new establishing connection can solve the issue. I will let you know.

regarding to question if I supposed to wear the watch I didn’t get the point at the beginning due to language difficultiesSweat smile sorry for that, but now it seems to be all clear!!
