Why would you expect me to pay 9€/month for Garmin Connect + ?

I payed the watch 700€ and you are advertising Connect+ saying « your data, create your own dashboard ». Exactly, my data, let me use them as I want.
Focus on making the app stable instead of trying to milk us.

I guess that was the whole purpose of making Garmin Connect mobile app unusable with the new interface, so that you pay to have the same stats the way you wanted them. If anything, Garmin has proven unreliable, not listening to customers, breaking things unnecessarily. These are not incentives to pay them more. A subscription would make sense if it subsidizes the watch prices, but I can't imagine anyone in their right minds paying $1,000 on a fitness device and then a subscription, however small, to use said device. Soon, they will start removing features from the free tier to force people into the Connect+, but that will only alienate their customer base. And pretty soon, they will announce that fitness devices are no longer a priority and focus on the corporate market. After all, younger buyers are more inclined to buy an Apple Watch, a Pixel, or a Samsung watch. Garmin catered to the professional and enthusiast fitness crowd, and it's increasingly drifting away from them.

Just sharing my experience, the mobile app has been fine, but connect on the web is the real value.

Nothing requires you to join connect+, the base connect functionality surpasses what you get with paying for something like Strava.

A lot of folks pay for coaches, pay for runalyze, pay for Strave adn all of these services are building out AI coaching/training/feedback. If Garmin wants to be in business in a few years, they have to compete.

as long as the base data and base features of connect don't change, i'm happy and so far, it hasn't changed.

also, the newer app was based on community feedback and an open beta, so contrary to what i'm reading, Garmin did listen to what many users wanted. I just find data analysis on mobile sucks no matter what so i absolutely love connect over the web and it's the reason i'd never jump on Apple's ecosystem that is mobile only.
