I have to switch to Apple Watch

I recently bought a BMW EV. AW opens and starts the car. Is this the end of my relationship with my Fenix 8? I love my Fenix but I swim and surf. You lock your phone and key in the car and open it when you get out of the water with the AW. Can’t do it with the Fenix.

That's a typical feature for a Connect IQ app. Currently there is an app for Tesla cars only in the CIQ store. BMW has an API at BMW Open Data Platform, so it may be possible achieving the same for BMW cars too. Try suggesting it to Connect IQ developers at https://forums.garmin.com/developer/connect-iq/f/app-ideas, someone may pick up the idea and develop the app.
