Garmin Descent G1 Unable to sync Sleep Data

I have a Garmin decent G1 watch. I am able to see the sleep data every morning and also able to view the previous days sleep data on the watch.

The same data is not syncing with the connect app. Other activities and most other features are syncing with the connect app and I am confused as to why only the sleep data is not synced with the connect app.

it is important to know that after recording activities for the past two weeks I am also unable to see any VO2 data although I have set my pulse oximeter settings to ‘All Day’

Looking for any suggestion/ advice 

  • You can try to Remove and Add a Device From the Garmin Connect App | Garmin Customer Support, wait till the next morning, sync, and see whether it helped. If not, then have a look at the Troubleshooting guide for (some) data missing after syncing for more tips. Also double check that the watch and and the phone use identical time, date, and time zone.

    I highly recommend disabling PulseOx completely. It is a huge power consumer, and will drain the battery very quickly. PulseOx is not needed for anything else than the Altitude Acclimation, when you stay longer time at altitude over 800m, but even then the overnight PulseOx is sufficient. The VO₂max estimation does not use the PulseOx sensor.

  • I went a step further and did a factory reset. It seems to have worked, although I lost certain recent trends like altitude aclimation (the other trends were anyway not updating)

    Nonetheless will keep your advice in mind for future issues. Pulse Ox is always on since I am above 9000ft.

    For the record after doing the reset I had to install Garmin Dive to set up the watch initially. Garmin Connect wasn’t able to initially.

    Just wondering if absence of Garmin Dive app installed had anything to do with the non updating of recent data earlier.
